Get to know a little bit more about the new governors at our school.
Local Authority Governor.
Mr. A. Toms
I am very honoured to accept the post of Local Authority Governor.
As an ex-pupil of Lammack School, and with my three children attending for the next ten years.I have a keen interest in the school and want to contribute to the continuing excellent performance I have witnessed over the past year.
My work experience lies in management in various sectors, from running restaurants, area manager for a large retail company, and now helping to take a telecoms company from a regional to a national structure. This experience has given me excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well on my own and as part of a team.
In addition I spend my spare time at Blackburn Rugby Club, where I manage the senior third team, and coach the under 9’s. I am about to commence my Level One coaching badge with the RFU, and am keen to explore possible links between the club and local schools.
Parent Governors.
Mrs F. Choudry

I have a sentimental affiliation with Lammack as I am one of six siblings and five cousins who all attended Lammack for their primary education. I am pleased that my two children have been able to share my history by also attending the school. My daughter Ammyrah Hassan in 3L and my son Daaniyal Hassan has started reception in class RB.
My background: I am currently the KS1 Assistant Headteacher at St.Barnabas & St.Pauls CEP School in Blackburn. It is my third year in post here. Previous to this I was a Teaching and Learning Consultant for Lancashire Education Authority specialising in EAL and also part of the Literacy and Assessment for Learning team. My teaching career prior to this spans eight years in a school in Lancashire and in Bradford.
It is all this experience and knowledge I feel would benefit your governors committee as I have an insight in schools and the education system.
Mr. A. Patel

My Name is Ashif Patel, I have a daughter in year 1 at Lammack Primary school and I hope to serve as a Parent Governor.
Experience
· Employed as a Commercial Officer at BAe Systems for the last 15 years-
· Been involved in a number of events organised for Charity, at BAe Systems (Charity Challenge Co-ordinator) and within the Community.
· Served the local community for over 10 years as the League Secretary for the Blackburn Community League and a Treasurer/Secretary for Blackburn United Football Club.
· Helped out on various play projects around the Borough for the last 18 years, liaising with parents, carers and other professionals.
This has given me a vast array of experience with children and young people of various abilities and backgrounds. It has also given me extensive management and administrative experience.
As a Parent Governor, I would work as a member of the team, but have an independent view, give support in shaping the school's policies and influence its development and represent the community in which the school serves and be responsive to its needs.
